The October meeting of Flatwillow Homemakers was on October 8 at Ginger’s home. She made a delicious beef stew, and everyone filled in with sides. We had delicious salads and breads and desserts to go along with our stew. Roll call was a fun trivia game of sorts for us. We had to use the first letter of our first name to describe ourselves. WINNETT SENIOR NEWS 2024 September Sept 5 -Twenty-eight seniors and eight take-out orders enjoyed roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, lettuce salad, rolls, relishes and a Texas brownie for dessert. FLATWILLOW and WINNETT NEWS Flatwillow Homemakers will be holding their first meeting after the summer break on Tuesday, September 10. It will be at Linda Gershmel’s home. It will be a summer tea party for ladies so if you have a summer hat, it would be fun to wear them to Linda’s house. Flatwillow Homemakers took a road trip to Billings for our end of year field trip. We carpooled from Winnett and met up with Melody and Sandy at the Yellowstone Art Museum. Ginger’s daughter Stephanie Moore also joined us at the museum. Leonard and Kardy Eickhoff, with a combined 64 years of being on the Winnett Volunteer Fire Department, were recognized on December 21, 2023, at the annual fire department Christmas party held at the Winnett Bar. Leonard first joined the fire department in 1983. In 1999, when the current chief, Ronnie Olson passed away, Leonard was elected fire chief and held that position until he retired as chief in 2015. He stayed on as a firefighter until he officially retired in 2023. His wife Kardy joined...
WINNETT SENIOR NEWS June June 1 - Our menu today is Polish Dogs, mashed potatoes, carrots/cabbage, and cupcakes for dessert. There were thirty-one members present and eight take-out orders for lunch. The Mail-A-Meal boxes should arrive at the senior center on Monday around noon. If you are a paying member of seniors, be sure to let Patti know if you would like a box. WINNETT SENIOR NEWS May May 4 - First meeting in our new Wesley Room in the Petroleum County Community Center. Thirty-six seniors and six take-out meals enjoyed Cream of Broccoli soup, pasta salad, cheese slices, relishes, garlic bread, fruit, veggie tray, and Lemon cake. WINNETT SENIOR NEWS December Dec 1 - We enjoyed a luncheon of taco casserole, fruit salad, relish tray, and a brownie for dessert. There were twenty-six seniors there with seven take-out meals. There will be a basketball game tomorrow in Winnett. Saturday, Dec 3, the Christmas Stroll begins at 6:00pm and goes to 8:00.
