John was called home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2022, about a week following his 87th birthday. He died of natural causes at Roundup Memorial Nursing home where he had resided since July of 2021. He was born in Powell, Wyoming on April 30, 1935 to Burton and Frances M. Carlson, the third of five boys. He had a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and taught for fifteen years. Midway West Amusements Carnival is coming to Roundup, Montana for the first time and they will be part of RIDE’s 17th annual celebration. The Carnival will be set up in City Park at the big ball field beside Hwy 12. The Carnival will run July 1-4th. There will be at least sixteen rides for adults, kiddies, and the whole family. So far we have raised $2900 and placed 131 luminaries around the gym floor in memory of loved ones and in honor of our survivors.
