  • Vernon Kuhlmann

    Jul 21, 2021

Introduction and Ending by Lura Pitman You may have seen Vernon Kuhlmann for the first time at the Rodeo where he and Doug Parrot were honored for their service. If you were not lucky enough to attend that event, I have permission to share his story in The Roundup Record Tribune from Vernon and The Advocate News in Kansas. It is written from "The Advocate" by Kathy Merklein, published on Thursday Nov. 14th, 2019. Before I begin with the script, I would like to mention that Vernon had his 100th...

  • Letters to the Editor

    Jul 21, 2021

Last Friday afternoon, I attended a problem-solving meeting called by Sheriff Lesnik. The topic was the just-completed RIDE weekend. The groups represented were the RIDE committee, VFW, Rodeo Roundup, and the Chamber of Commerce. We discussed problem areas that occurred and how to be proactive in the future to prevent a repeat. At the end of the meeting, some barbs were thrown at the paper, which had announced the VFW would have a parade Sunday, July 4th. This newspaper has made it a policy to print informational announcements from the...

  • Our National Athem

    Jul 21, 2021

Mark Levin's latest book, AMERICAN MARXISM......Please read to understand what is going on in our beloved nation. Now, Black Lives Matter says our national anthem is racist....how? It mentions no race in lyrics. But the BLM anthem does.....they call it "The Black National Anthem" now, how racist is that? NFL will play this before every game in 2021! For what? We fought a civil war, gave them Affirmative action, housing and busing to better school districts. WTH else are we suppose to do for these people? The BLM is a low life group of misfits...

  • 26TH OF JULY

    Jul 21, 2021

It was the name that Dr. Fidel Castro gave his "movement," (which turned out to be an appropriate term) because it was the date on which he and his band of merry men took to the mountains of Oriente Province (as I recall) to oppose the government of Fulgencio Batista. I have NO doubt the existing regime needed replacement. I mark the date and the movement for the attention and edification of Commie wannabes. It is an example, near to home and rather recent, of the utter failure and vicious barbarity of Communism as practiced by contemporary, ti...

  • Internet Censorship: The Real Monopoly Threat

    Thomas L Knapp|Jul 21, 2021

"If [Donald] Trump and [Bernie] Sanders take the same position on Big Tech censorship," David Catron writes at The American Spectator, "the issue deserves serious attention." He's right, but in pretty much the opposite of the way he intends. When the mainstream "right" and "left" agree on anything, that's almost always a blazing neon sign warning us that our freedoms are under threat. Catron (and Trump and Sanders) want the US government to seize control of social media platforms and dictate which users those platforms must accept and what...

  • PINE RIDGE GOLF COURSE MEN'S LEAGUE

    Jul 21, 2021

Pro Pipe is on a mission and is trying to cement themselves as the top team for the 2021 season. In the past two weeks they’ve won decisively over two of the top four seeds. Last week they unseated PM Services for the top spot and they followed up by beating Magpie Ranch Co. decisively by an almost identical score. With two weeks to go, it seems like most of the golfers were rounding in to form. We had five men shoot a 1 over 37 this week, but it wasn’t enough to win low gross. Ed Rutan won that honor shooting an even par 36. Matt McCleary won...

"USDA's decision to allow for emergency haying and grazing on some CRP acres will greatly benefit our farmers and ranchers, and I...

  • Shakespeare in the Parks Live in Roundup

    Jul 21, 2021

Story by Elizabeth Wood On a beautiful summer evening last week, Roundup hosted the Montana Shakespeare in the Parks (MSIP) performance of Shakespeare's "Cymbeline." An enthusiastic audience of over 130 folks cheered the return of live theater to Roundup after this tough year. "Cymbeline" is a play most of us had never heard of, with a complex plot in a fairy tale setting. But with the new bigger stage and the beautiful hills in the background it was a fun night out in Roundup. Many people help...
