In June, the hospital beds and Emergency Room gurneys were delivered. This installation was the final step to complete replacement of beds throughout the entire facility. The teams worked hard to make this transition smooth and as easy as possible for patients. The old beds were 21 years old and no longer repairable. The new beds will advance the quality of care by...

  • Pastor's Corner - The Root Problem

    Aug 14, 2019

People ask, "What in the world is going on and what can we do to make it better." Let me suggest to you that if God is who He says He is and the Bible is His Word, we then have a source that is important to understanding life. Even all the craziness that keeps our world spinning sometimes out of control. Some people like to think of it in terms of an Owner’s Manual. So with all that is happening in our world and maybe most specifically the recent mass shootings in Ohio and Texas, it would only seem logical that we should be able to find help in...

  • New EPA rule could wreck your engine this summer

    Drew Johnson|Aug 14, 2019

The Environmental Protection Agency just approved the year-round sale of E15, a gasoline blend comprised of 15 percent ethanol. Until now, the agency had banned the mixture during summer months, since high-ethanol blends react with hot air to form smog. Most cars can't handle this high-ethanol gasoline. So, by pushing more E15 into the fuel supply, the EPA could wreck vehicle engines and put drivers on the hook for costly repairs. Let's hope officials reverse their decision before it's too late. The average vehicle is more than a decade old. Hi...

    Rachel Hergett, MSU News Service|Aug 14, 2019

BOZEMAN – Though Nipah virus was first identified in 1999, its 2018 appearance in Kerala, an Indian state on the Arabian Sea near the tip of the subcontinent, was a surprise that prompted action for researchers at Montana State University. “We can’t predict why or where it’s going to emerge next,” said Raina Plowright, an assistant professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the College of Letters and Science and the College of Agriculture. After the 2018 outbreak, which killed 21 people in Kerala, Plowright and members of her...

  • Hall Ranch: Installment II

    Larry and Jane Stanfel|Aug 14, 2019

When homesteaders abandoned their claims and moved on, it was common for them to turn loose their horses, and, at the time Charlie Hall came to North Gage Road, 50-60 wild horses roamed his property. At first, he worked to run them away but finally turned his rodeo talents to advantage. He rounded up a number of the animals, trained them, and kept one for himself. He also sold horse hair for stuffing furniture, and given his frugal, enterprising nature, who knows but that some local sausage was...
