  • Voyles Family Loses Home in Fire

    Lura Pitman|Aug 25, 2021

A family home was lost on August the 17th, cause undetermined as of this report, when the front porch caught on fire. The rural home was occupied with children and a teen when the fire started. The grandparents were in Billings and parents were not at home when the call came in. The fire fighters were wonderful in trying to save the home but everything was gone by then. The children and animals were all able to get out but had to jump over the fire to get out the back door according to the...

  • Letters to the Editor

    Aug 25, 2021

My great niece is starting kindergarten this year, and we were informed that there will be no school buses for children who live less than 3 miles each way. She would have to walk a little over a mile each way, cross main street, without so much as a crossing guard! I don't think this is safe, it is difficult for adults to cross that highway, let alone a little child of 5, not to mention the long walk in our winters. I attempted to see superintendent Sealy, and was told by Caroline (his secretary??) "It won't do any good, we are not required...

I want to openly apologize for the Biden/Harris administration and how they let you down.If Donald J. Trump was still President, he would have left this region in a honorable and timely manner. Our government over the last 20 years has spent 1 trillion American tax dollars in Iraq/Afghanistan and we lost the best of ourselves when American Military were killed by the enemy. WRITE OR CALL state rep’s and demand Biden/Harris resign from the O...

  • Now, About That Peace Dividend ...

    Thomas L Knapp|Aug 25, 2021

As I write this, the Taliban have assumed full political control -- to the extent that such a thing can exist -- of Afghanistan. They've taken Kabul. They've put the US occupation's puppet president, and many Afghans who served the occupation presence, to flight. They've declared the restoration of their "Islamic Emirate." Despite the sometimes ugly particulars, that's good news for America. A war that should never have happened, and that once it happened should have lasted more like 20 weeks than 20 years, is finally ending. So, let's get...
