  • Pastor's Corner

    Aug 26, 2020

One Question In case you hadn’t noticed, we are in the middle of a very important election year. Soon it will be time to decide who you are going to vote for, if you haven’t already. I’ve somewhat simplified this process in my life by asking a few very simple questions about what the candidates believe. What do they stand for and so in turn how will they vote. In fact it has gotten so simple for me that generally I key in on one specific question. That question is, “what do you believe about the rights of a baby in the mother’s womb?” It...

  • Letters to the Editor

    Aug 26, 2020

The letter to the Editor in last weeks paper signed by Larry Lekse, Bryan Adolph, Sue Olson, and Mike Kilby was lengthy, but told little about the root problem of our current (2019-2020) situation- the 2015 audit. However, the comments they did make only raise more questions and concerns. What happens within the County government can be dependent on actions from previous years- this can affect the department operations and finances. An audit reports actions that are not acceptable with accounting practices and those that have violated the MCA...

  • Letters to the Editor

    Aug 26, 2020

Thanks to the progressive Sociaist party, we can have a abortion, not go to church service, we can go to gambling casinos and Walmart, but not to the voting polls this November. Contact your state elected offcials and say "No" to this we must have our polls open. • Letters to the Editor

    Aug 26, 2020

Thank you, Postmaster DeJoy, for pledging to suspend your poorly planned changes to the US Postal Service. Montanans, particularly rural residents, rely on the mail for our daily transactions. Many of us get our medications, our Social Security checks, our bills and our ballots by mail. And we use the USPS to pay these bills and to submit our ballots. Hampering the reliability and timeliness of our postal service may be inconvenient to some but actually harmful to others. If our elections are compromised because our votes don’t arrive on t...

  • Governor Bullock Has Spoken

    Aug 26, 2020

Governor Bullock has issued another edict. This time, it’s taking away your right to choose how you vote in the November general election. While I didn’t publicly oppose an all-mail ballot for the June primary election, it was a different time – we were still evaluating the Coronavirus and its effect on Montana. Today, doctors have improved treatment and thousands of businesses across Montana have been able to operate by taking precautions to keep their customers safe. Surely, if you can safely go to the store to buy groceries you should be ab...

  • Flattening the curve on Chronic Wasting Disease

    Tom Puchlerz|Aug 26, 2020

It’s cool this morning. There is a different feel to the air. The days are slowly getting shorter, my bird dogs are getting restless and I am listening for that first bugle of a bull elk down in the river bottom. It’s that time when I, and all hunters, anxiously prepare for the glorious days we spend pursuing our quarry in the forests and uplands of our Montana. But this year things are different, and as we take to the field we must acknowledge that difference and change our behavior for the sake of the hunt, our wildlife and our fellow hun...
