I would like to take this opportunity to share why I think I would be a good choice for county commissioner. I have lived in Musselshell county for 5 years. In the course of my candidacy, the people of Musselshell County have expressed to me a variety of concerns, mainly related to the following areas: 1. Three years ago in 2017, Dan Yoder and his family moved north of Roundup from Ashland to begin Bull Mountain Fencing. Dan and his brother build quality fence of all kinds, including chain link, wood, barbwire as well as building gates, corral panels, loading chutes, and cattle guards. They also carry feeders for sale. When I arrived to meet Dan, he was welding a corral panel that was six foot tall by ten foot long. Dan and his dog, Whiskey, showed me around the construction. • Pastor's Corner

    Sep 30, 2020

I am rerunning Joyce Kaplan’s final column from July 22, 2020. It especially speaks to her heart for the Lord and her relationship with Christ our Savior. Dave SEEING JESUS I want to continue with last week’s list of ways to see Jesus in the Old Testament. Jesus, in His pre-incarnate form, comes to many humans in the Bible to speak to them. Anytime it says THE Angel of the Lord, that is Jesus. If it says an angel of the Lord and usually gives a name, that is just what it says it is, AN angel sent by God. When Jesus was crucified, He was nai...

  • Letters to the Editor

    Sep 30, 2020

Dear Musselshell County partners, I wanted to update you with the census results in Montana as well as Musselshell County. Short answer—it’s not going great. For numbers specific to Musselshell County, the only information we have for certain is that the percentage of households that have been counted by the bureau is 66.66%. When you add in state-wide and regional estimates from the census bureau telling us how many households have been ‘enumerated’ (ie. Canvassed by a census bureau door knocker), our best guess is that there are ROUGHLY...

  • Letters to the Editor

    Sep 30, 2020

Here in Montana we are granted the right to vote on ballot initiatives once they clear a number of hurdles, including having the related petition garner enough qualifying signatures. Not achieved, however, is the ability to hold public hearings on the proposed issue – such as is accomplished during legislative debate, fiscal review and the amendment process. On November 3rd, we will be voting on CI-118 which would legalize marijuana here in Montana. Aside from what the proponents and opponents argue in the press about public health and s...
