  • Pastor's Corner

    Oct 23, 2019

God’s Way, Not Ours I was meditating on how the early church functioned so differently than ours do today. Paul wrote in First Corinthians 14:26 that when Christians come together everyone should have something to share. I quote, “What then, brothers and sisters, when you meet together, each one has a hymn, a teaching, a disclosure of special knowledge or information, an utterance in a strange tongue or an interpretation of it. But let everything be constructive and edifying and for the good of all.” Our worship services tend to be a one-p...

  • Why Milton Friedman Rightly Opposed Drug Re-Importation

    Phil Kerpen|Oct 23, 2019

Is government-facilitated re-importation of prescription medicines from Canada a policy now supported by politicians as diverse as President Donald Trump and Senator Bernard Sanders an issue of free trade, or a backdoor method of imposing price controls? That's the way the question is usually framed in policy debates, but the great Nobel prize-winning economist Milton Friedman took a third view. "The issue is patents," Friedman explained in a 2004 interview. "The real issue is not really re-importation. The real issue in my opinion is the Food...

  • On Impeachment Democrats are Sloppy with the Constitution

    Harold Pease PhD|Oct 23, 2019

The Constitution is presently used by both major political parties defending or opposing the House Intelligence Committee impeachment inquiry against President Donald J. Trump. Both argue their loyalty to it. It reads: “The House of Representatives … shall have the sole Power of Impeachment,” (Art. I, Sec. 2, Cla. 5). The people place a president in power and their representatives—the House—alone initiates and formulates the charges for his possible removal. The “Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.” So one indicts, the...
