Reed is from the Musselshell area, and attended MSU, receiving a bachelors degree in animal science and will soon be working towards a master’s degree.     The 2024 election is over, for some. But for Musselshell County, the counting goes on. For Cheryl Tomassi, counting is her job. As clerk, recorder, and election administrator for Musselshell County, she is the overseer of elections. This year there were 3,863 registered voters. A total of 3,063 ballots were cast in this year's election. Of those registered, 2,462 were absentee. Of those absentee voters, 2,206 returned ballots. 830 voted at the polls.     The October meeting of Flatwillow Homemakers was on October 8 at Ginger’s home. She made a delicious beef stew, and everyone filled in with sides.     BILLINGS, Mont. – The Bureau of Land Management Montana-Dakotas State Office today announced an oil and gas lease sale scheduled for Jan. 22, 2025, to offer 13 oil and gas parcels totaling 1,324 acres in Montana and North Dakota. The BLM completed scoping on these parcels in July 2024 and held a public comment period that closed in September 2024 on the parcels, potential deferrals, and the related environmental analysis.     GARDINER – Last week, a mortality signal from a Yellowstone National Park collar led authorities to a wolf that appears to have died from a gunshot wound and was found in Wolf Management Unit (WMU) 313. Evidence on site suggests the wolf was shot and had taken refuge in heavy cover. The carcass did not appear to have been tampered with or deliberately placed.     HELENA – Attorney General Austin Knudsen announced today that Montana will receive nearly $4 million in a multi-state settlement with Kroger – a national grocery chain which operates subsidiaries in Montana, including Smiths and Loaf 'N Jug – to resolve the company's role in the prescription opioid crisis.
