Sage Newman, of Melstone Montana, is competing this year at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Rodeo is a physically strenuous sport that often is deadly. Bronc riders risk their life with every ride. Over the years there have been more safety measures put in place, but it is still nearly a blood sport. On June 18, 2021, we held our annual Appreciation dinner to recognize our amazing volunteers for their service for 2020. We were unable to hold the event last year due to COVID. 70 volunteers and guests attended the dinner. Executive Director of Area II Agency on Aging, Marcy Brookie, started us off with a welcome speech. On Saturday June 19, 2021, Roundup airport hosted an annual breakfast that saw many interesting aircraft fly in from around the state. Airport Chairman Kelly Gebhardt presented certificate of appreciation to Doug Parrot who has worked through the years to make Roundup airport a first-class destination for many airmen. The Dan McCaffree Family and Friends of Musselshell School, Inc. (FoMS) will be hosting the 17th Annual Memorial Weekend "Pig-nic" at Musselshell School on Sunday and Monday, May 30 and 31. The time has come to celebrate! Country star Joe Nichols is coming to Roundup to headline RIDE 2021 on July 3rd at the Roundup Outdoor Stage. COVID caused RIDE to reschedule, but as promised Nichols and Hotel California are on for this year, and we have added American Idol’s Lauren Mascitti! RIDE is taking precautions to ensure that all events on July 2-4th will be as safe as possible.
