The Lower Musselshell Conservation District and MSU Extension are teaming up to provide a noxious weed workshop on Thursday, August 27th starting at 9 am. The workshop will be held at the Musselshell County Fairgrounds in the horse barn to maintain social distancing between audience members. Musselshell/GoldenValley Weed District, the Musselshell/Golden Valley 4-H Council and Jennifer Fosjord with MSU Extension held the first annual noxious weed pull on June 6th 2020 and it was a huge success! The 4-H members along with their parents learned about spotted knapweed and why it needs to be controlled. Teams of 2 were formed ending up with over 19 teams. As of June 1, 2020, we do not know for sure when we will be holding classes for hunter safety or bowhunter safety (hunter safety) at the shooting range. Right now, any person 12 or older by January 16, 2021 can take the hunter safety courses online. There is also an online field course so that no field day is currently required. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is picking up the entire cost of the online courses so there will be no charges for any of the online courses.
