    May 8, 2024

Governor Greg Gianforte issued the following statement after hearing reports of illegal immigrants being transported into Flathead County: “I’m deeply troubled and frustrated by reports of illegal immigrants being flown into Flathead County. The Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC) reports that H5N1 avian influenza (bird flu) "is widespread in wild birds worldwide and is causing outbreaks in poultry and US dairy cows with one recent human case in a US dairy worker." Migratory waterfowl promote transmission of avian influenza (AI). Spring's moist, cool days provide an ideal environment for AI to spread through puddles and ponds. • School Board Election

    Norma Trent|May 1, 2024

1.When hiring teachers, some administrators consistently prioritize athletic coaching over teaching ability. How would you react if our school superintendent did that? We hire teachers if they can coach, great. I don’t hire someone to coach if perhaps they can teach. We have a hard enough time hiring teachers. 2. Relative to other schools, does our public school have trouble hiring and retaining good teachers? This is an endemic problem throughout the state. People are getting out of the education field, and perhaps the lower salary schedule d...

Per Shawn Dutton, the old sign had been in place for over 20 years, and parts to fix it were impossible to find.
