There is a growing group of people who are looking to improve and modernize the community, and one of those people is Sandra Gebhardt. Sandra, who married local Derin Gebhardt, is active in promoting the local community and inspiring new ideas, growth, and taking on a plan to provide more awareness and resource of what is available in our small town. Our local food bank provides an emergency three to five day supply of food to needy persons in our area. These services are provided without bias. There were three bowlers drawn from the sign up box, and sadly no one had a full strike this year, so no turkey was given away. However many pins (two liter sodas) were knocked over and won. Contestants got to keep ever bottle they knocked down. The event was fun, and there were quite a few people who just came to watch. IGA employees Jodi and Jessie did a great job helping contestants. DEER LODGE – Thirty Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) inmates were transported to Saguaro Correctional Center in Arizona Tuesday as part of an effort to relieve overcrowding pressure at Montana State Prison (MSP). Roundup Memorial Hospital Women's Auxiliary has been a member of the Musselshell Unity Drive for several years. They serve the hospital by making stays of the hospital and nursing home patients more enjoyable. Calendars featuring drawings by artist Don Greytak are available from the Montana 4-H Foundation as a fundraiser to support 4-H youth programs. Montana FFA Members recently returned from participation at the National FFA Convention and Expo held in Indianapolis, IN. Mid-Rivers Communications is offering $108,000 in scholarship funds for Eastern and Central Montana students. The Mid-Rivers Fund for Education, funded by unclaimed capital credits from members, has awarded over $670,000 in scholarships to area students. Musselshell County Council on Aging is quite busy these days sending out 'Meals on Wheels' to eligible disabled citizens and seniors in Roundup. MCCOA will use any funds generated by the Musselshell Unity Drive to help defray the costs of performing this valuable service. Cooney State Park offers diverse activities throughout the year. Amenities are restricted at the state park beginning late Sept., but the park remains open for use year-round.
