Big Sky Speedway track championship points race has ended another season! Big night for Kayla, trying to hold off last years track and state champion, Corey Craver. Started the night just 8 points ahead. Heat race, Kayla finished 4th out of 8. Track was in good condition, considering 1+ inches of rain this week. Main race was increased to 25 laps, usually a standard 20 laps. Drivers were very aggressive, chasing add on money for the winner! Kayla was very nervous, but made no mistakes avoiding crashes! An unlikely sport for a girl from Musselshell county, Kayla Lynn Pelissier has started a career in stock car racing. She is sixteen years old, and has been racing now for two seasons. This year she has gained the title of "Rookie of the Year". Beginning to race in 2020, she was not able to qualify nationally as a Rookie till 2021 because of the Covid shut downs. PINE RIDGE GOLF COURSE MEN’S LEAGUE Pro Pipe has pretty much cemented themselves as the top seed going in to the last week. We have four teams trying to get to the second seed which comes with a first-round bye. We have one week to go, with the top six seed making the playoffs. Pro Pipe is on a mission and is trying to cement themselves as the top team for the 2021 season. In the past two weeks they’ve won decisively over two of the top four seeds. Last week they unseated PM Services for the top spot and they followed up by beating Magpie Ranch Co. decisively by an almost identical score. With two weeks to go, it seems like most of the golfers were rounding in to form. We had five men shoot a 1 over 37 this week, but it wasn’t enough to win low gross. PINE RIDGE GOLF COURSE MEN’S LEAGUE Three weeks left to go before playoffs begin and it’s going to be a battle for the top two seeds going into playoffs. The top six teams will make the playoffs with the top two teams each earning a first round BYE. Pro Pipe and PM Services battled for the one seed with Pro Pipe coming out ahead 24.5 to 15.5 to claim the top spot. Coach Yang Yang announced today the signing of Brook Ark, Helena High; Bella Bryan, Billings Skyview; Liddia Fontaine, Red Lodge; Merrin Schwend, Joliet, and Blythe Sealey, Roundup, to letters of intent to join the Rocky Mountain College volleyball program. Blythe Sealey, a 5-foot-8 setter, joins the Battlin' Bears after a four-year high school career at Roundup High School. Sealey has led the Roundup volleyball team in assists for the past three years. The Melstone HS Track Team came away from the Southern C Divisional Track Meet in Laurel on Thursday, May 20th with four championship titles. Leni Krehbiel, an exchange student from Germany, earned first place honors in the 200m, 400m and high jump. Leni will also anchor the girls 4x400m relay at State.
