Roundup AAU Wrestling took their Middle School (6-8th grade) wrestlers to Lewistown on Friday, March 26th, for a dual. The Melstone Lady Broncs headed to the Class C State tournament on Wednesday at the Lockwood High School. The Lady Broncs faced the Manhattan Christian Eagles in the 1st round but they fell 32-56. The Roundup Panthers started their District tournament challenging the Columbus Cougars. Columbus were the three seed in the tournament and the Panthers were the six seed. The Melstone Lady Broncs started the Southern C Divisional tournament on Wednesday with a game against the Roberts Rockets, they defeated the Rockets 56-32. The Roundup Panthers traveled to Shepherd Friday evening to challenge the Mustangs on their home court. The Panthers ran a full court man pressure at the Mustangs hoping to get them rattled and tired. The Melstone Broncs went into the 4-C District tournament as the #1 seed and faced the Plevna Cougars on Wednesday, they beat the Cougars 57-12. The Melstone Broncs had a full weekend of home games, they started on Thursday with the Jordan Mustangs. The JV girls lost 24-30, the JV boys won 40-30, the Varsity girls won 68-47 and the Varsity Boys won 59-46. On Friday the Melstone Broncs faced the Terry Terriers, the Varsity girls won 74-22 and the Varsity boys had their 1st loss of the season 44-47. The Roundup Panthers traveled to Huntley on Tuesday to challenge the Red Devils. Huntley is as one of the top five teams in the Class B this year but overall the Panthers stood up to the challenge. Huntley has a distinct height advantage as they have two posts that are 6'5" and 6'7" who are very athletic and talented.
