Lacy J. Dalton Coming Back To Roundup

One of the most recognizable voices in country music is coming back to Roundup on August 11th at 6pm at the Outdoor Stage in City Park. Lacy J. Dalton has a special fondness for Montana and Roundup in particular. “Every time I have been here, it’s rained, and I’m going to do a whole show this time, that’s for sure”, she told the guys at 99.9 fm in Roundup recently. “I love Roundup. The people have been so good to me and Dale Poune, and we can’t wait to get back”.

Lacy J. has had many hits over the years, and recently had a #1 indie album with “The Last Wild Anthology”. Her biggest song is “16th Avenue”. It has been recognized as one of the top 100 country songs of all time. The song tells a story of Music Row in Nashville and the struggle to find the big time. “Crazy Blue Eyes” and “Hard Times, “Takin’ It Easy” and “Listen To The Wind”, she has had a big impact on the women of country. However, Lacy thinks that, all along, she is really a folk singer.

She has toured with Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, and has the stories to prove it. But, some can’t be printed here. Lacy has seen a lot of the good and Lacy J. Dalton Coming Back To Roundup some of the bad when it comes to a career in the music business. Her last song is called “Scarecrow”. There’s a lot of truth to the song she tells Mike Morgan recently in an interview. “It took me 13 years to get the courage to write it”. It has gotten airplay all over the world.

Opening the show on August 11th will be local talent sensation Mallory Morgan. She attends Roundup High School and is worth the price of admission. Mallory recently learned a Lacy J. song and is a big fan of hers.

The show is sponsored by local VFW #4925, American Legion Post #18, The Roundup Volunteer Fire Department, Autumn’s Inn, and Saddlehorn Productions. Proceeds go back to the sponsors. You can get your tickets early at Roundup Panther 99.9fm radio, The Autumn’s Inn, Mecca Bar, Gebhardt’s Lumber, or from VFW or Legion members. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate.
