This years annual Stock Growers dinner which was also sponsored by Roundup Chamber of Commerce took place at the Community Commons. Speaker Ed Fryer spoke about some of the business that the Stock Growers are engaged in. The first and foremost agenda being advocacy in the Montana Legislature. They represent stock growers concerns with governmental changes affecting stock growers and land owners. Some of the issues they have been involved in this year include herd segregation due to brucellosis, Waters of the US, fake meat labeling, concerns with the BLM and APR, and the Cattle Drive Program. The Stock Growers Association has been a membership only group for 135 years.
Dinner was a delicious prime rib, baked potato, salad, roll and desert put on by Scott Wiley.
