The Roundup Christmas Food Basket Program is a community project that has a lengthy history in the Roundup community. It is funded by donations from community families, businesses, and organizations; food baskets are given to community families, and the food baskets are stocked with items from community businesses. It is hoped that the tradition of giving in the Roundup community will continue this holiday season! In 2018, the Roundup Christmas Food Basket Program served over 100 families. The Christmas Food Basket program will only be possible through the giving hearts and generosity of our fellow citizens. Those able to make monetary donations are asked to mail their donations to the Christmas Food Basket Program, PO Box 462, Roundup, MT 59072, or present their donation at First Security Bank to the Christmas Food Basket program account. Donation canisters are also available at the area grocery stores.
Many volunteers are also necessary to see the Christmas Food Baskets through to fruition. The number of volunteers has dwindled in recent years, and many new faces are needed to continue this tradition of giving. Please volunteer your time for this worthy cause by calling Cindi at 323-1242 or 860-1577. Volunteers are particularly needed on Thursday, December 19th, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon to help with the assembly of the food baskets.
Christmas Food Basket registration forms are available in the Roundup Record Tribune and at Picchioni’s IGA and VanDyke’s Supermarket. Registration forms will be accepted through December 6th, 2019. Distribution of the Christmas Food Baskets will be on Friday, December 20th, 2019.
