Kenneth Elwood Witzel

Kenneth Elwood Witzel, 82, of Roundup passed away peacefully at home on December 6, 2019 with his family by his side.Kenneth was born at Pompey’s Pillar “under the rock” on November 14, 1937 to John Henry “Jim” Witzel and Tracy Colletti Witzel Newland. He was the middle of three sons. Kenneth attended Klein Schools for the majority of his grade school and high school years and was a proud resident of Klein more than 76 years. After school in Klein, Kenneth went into the Air Force and was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the Philippines and lastly in Yuma, Arizona where he was honorably discharged. After being discharged from the service he returned to Montana and worked in the oil fields for Soape Drilling and McAllister Fuel. Later he worked for the State of Montana of Transportation where he retired after 15 years of service.On September 27, 1963 Kenneth married Nan Wise in Couer d’Alene, Idaho. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nan; son, Michael Witzel of Klein; daughter Tammie and Kent Manning of Billings; brother Dale and Norma Witzel of Las Vegas, Nevada and grandchildren Tate and Toree Manning. He is also survived by many beloved cousisns, special in-laws and many special nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Jim, mother Tracy, stepfather Mike Newland, brother Cliff and sister-in-law Helen.Throughout his life Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and landscaping and traveling. His favorite place to visit was Yellowstone National Park where he went almost every summer at least once. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice, the American Cancer Society or Riverstone Health Hospice.
