Eleanor E. Alt passed away on January 24, 2020 in Laurel, MT. She was born on April 18, 1921 west of Melville, Montana to John "Jack" and Leona Harper. She grew up and attended school in Big Timber, Montana. While cooking on a ranch, she met Adolph Alt. They married on Christmas Eve , 1938. Adolph and Eleanor lived in Roundup, Montana where she was very active in the 4H leadership and in ladies groups at St. Paul Lutheran Church. In 1965 they purchased a ranch in Joliet, Montana. She continued to be very active in St. John Lutheran Church in Laurel, Montana and was a bus driver for the Joliet School District. She had a beautiful yard and was very active in the Joliet Garden Club. She was also active in the Cowbelles Assoc.
She was preceded in death by her husband Adolph, daughter Della Carlson and son Carl Alt. She is survived by her children, Earl (Cheri) Alt of Joliet, Montana, Betty (Merle) Barnett of Kamiah, Idaho and David (Helen) Alt of Vancouver, WA, and 8 grand children and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, Mildred Deichert, Edna Lindstrom, Pat Maxwell, and Carleen Wittmer.A graveside service will begin at 10: 00 AM Monday, February 3 , 2020 at the Rockville Cemetery, near Joliet, Montana, followed by a Memorial service at St. John Lutheran Church in Laurel, Montana at 11:30 AM.
