RMH Emergency Services Project Fully Funded

We are excited to announce that Musselshell County has been selected for a Delivering Local Assistance (DLA) award in the amount of $713,500 to be granted for the replacement of the emergency generator, control system, domestic hot water system, repairs to HVAC and boilers, and replacement of room controls at Roundup Memorial Healthcare.

Roundup Memorial Healthcare (RMH) was built in 1953 making the facility 66 years old and the majority of the emergency services equipment outdated and unrepairable. This project, now entirely funded, will allow RMH to fully resolve the public safety infrastructure deficiencies related to emergency services. RMH has spent significant time planning and researching ways to address the antiquated equipment and systems. As the only hospital in the county, during an emergency situation, it would be critical for RMH to serve as the community safe haven. The high cost of healthcare equipment and tight operating margins are challenging barriers to maintaining best practice services and state-of-the-art care. With these funds, these improvements are now a reality.

"Providing safe, patient-centered care at an aging facility provides its own set of unique challenges," said Holly Wolff, RMH CEO. "With the assistance of the Montana Department of Commerce DLA Grant and the Coal Board, we will be able to increase patient safety, comfortability, and overall improve staff and patient satisfaction here at RMH."

Roundup Memorial is extremely grateful to the Department of Commerce's DLA program for their support to address deficiencies in infrastructure and increase access to emergency and healthcare services. We would also like to thank the Musselshell County Commissioners who enabled the hospital's application to the DLA program and the Montana Coal Board who has committed $85,500 in support of this project.
