Just when we all need some “good” news we found it! We are pleased to announce that coming soon we will have 34 new American Flags displayed on our Main Street Flag Poles. It should be a wonderful addition for our town of Roundup. With the continued improvement of our Main Street curb appeal (thank you Roundup Commemorative Garden, DOT and local merchants). Also with the statewide recognition of Montana Tree City 2020 we are certainly heading in the right direction for new economic development and improved success for our small businesses.
A big thank you to VFW Post 4925 that generously sponsored and financially supported this project. Thank you also to the private contributors and support from Northwestern Energy, Montana Department of Transportation and especially our local city officials.
The City of Roundup has generously offered to install the flag holders on each of the 34 flag poles. The VFW will be responsible for hanging and removing the flags. This year we plan to have them displayed by May 1 for the Montana State presentation of the 2020 Tree Award. For now the flags will be displayed from the War Memorial to corner of Highway 12 East. They will remain displayed until Veteran’s Day each year.
