Silvertip Propane has offered propane service to Roundup since 2008. Located on Highway 87, just north of Roundup. The business is not locally owned; however, it does employ locally.
One of our favorite locals, Jay Cota, began managing the Roundup Silvertip in January of 2009. Jay is planning to semi retire later this year, continuing part time with Silvertip, and enjoying life with a little more time outside of work. Jay's favorite thing to do outside of work is going to his children's games. He is a long time member of VFW, American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus. Jay was originally from northern Minnisota, and his wife was from Cut Bank, but here in Roundup, we consider them locals. Jay served 30 years in the Marines for our country.
Nikki Donahue, is also employed by Silvertip. She is the face the customers see and the voice we hear when we call. Her husband drives bus for Roundup schools, and she has two daughters that attend our local school. Nikki has worked for Silvertip for five years.
The main driver for Silvertip is Kurt Lang, he has been with the company for 14 years, and is a self-declared grumpy old man, named cranky Kurt by Nikki.
Each summer, Silvertip has a customer appreciation day. It is a great time to fill the five gallon bottles. We hope that Silvertip will have a prosperous year and get through the difficulties that many businesses will be going through this year.
