RMH

Roundup Memorial Healthcare was awarded $713,500 for the Delivering Local Assistance (DLA) grant. A portion of the project will focus on the replacement of our boilers. Roundup Memorial Healthcare (RMH) was built in 1953 making the facility 66 years old and the majority of the emergency services equipment is outdated and unrepairable. This project will allow RMH to fully resolve the public safety infrastructure deficiencies related to emergency services. RMH has spent significant time planning and researching ways to address the antiquated equipment and systems.

In February of 2020, RMH was informed that their insurance premiums rose almost $90,000 due to being a coal-powered hospital and the renewal of the policy is not guaranteed in 2021. RMH was faced with a difficult decision; pay the exponential cost of insurance or become uninsurable. Because of that, the boiler conversion project rose to a top priority to be completed in 2020.

Currently, RMH has a decommissioned boiler from 2011 and one from 1985 as a backup. This project will allow for 15% cost savings in maintenance and 35% energy savings.

Roundup Memorial is extremely grateful to the Department of Commerce's DLA program for their support to address deficiencies in infrastructure and increase access to emergency and healthcare services.
