The Salvation Army helps those in need through financial support for emergencies. It is one of the main resources for the most needy in our community. Without bias, most everyone who asks for help can receive something to help meet the most basic needs. The Roundup Service Unit serves during a time of crisis or natural disasters that leave people with needs that need an immediate response. Our only other fundraiser is the annual Christmas Bell-Ringing Campaign.
Area II Agency on Aging provides a Guardianship program that provides court ordered surrogate decision-making. This helps incapacitated adults in regards to housing, medical and financial matters, thus maximizing each adult’s potential for autonomy and independence. These individuals have no family or anyone suitable or willing to assist them in making these decisions on their behalf. In addition to advocating for their personal needs, we also serve in the capacity of surrogate family providing social interaction visitation and special occasion celebrations.
