Summer is officially over and the Fall season is in full swing. We are enjoying plenty of donations of garden produce which everyone loves. Thank you to all that have donated tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, swiss chard and beets. We were happy to be able to help some of the firefighting efforts with donations of food and meals to the fire victims. We were disappointed to have to cancel our annual Octoberfest this year because of Covid-19 but do plan on making it better and bigger in 2021! In July we all enjoyed “chuck wagon” burgers cooked by Dan and Carol McCaffree. Cheryl prepared the sides of beans and salads. We enjoyed hosting and eating a western chuckwagon meal! We have applied for and received 2 grants from the State of Montana since June 2020. The first grant we applied for was for a new oven. We are loving it and it was long overdue. The second grant we received was a “stay connected” grant that allowed us to purchase technology that would benefit the seniors as we all deal with Covid-19. We were able to purchase a nice laptop that will be used for telemedicine appointments with a doctor as scheduled. We will be able to take it to the senior and assist them with an appointment. If they do not have wi-fi we can bring them to the center and assist them here, saving them the trouble of traveling to the doctor. A big thank you to Big Horn Signs for putting decals on our 2 buses .It looks great and we really appreciate their generosity! We serve meals on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at noon. Come early to visit and play cards or Bingo and win a prize! Our meals include drinks and dessert for $4.00. We are still providing grab and go meals and volunteers deliver meals on wheels for those that need it and are eligible.
