MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUNDUP HELD ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2020 AT 7:00 p.m. IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jones. Clerk/Treasurer Lanter conducted roll call with council members Long, Liggett, Vivirito, and Toombs present. Present by video were Erickson, Carlson, Fisher and Attorney Lundvall. Also present was Assistant Clerk Mann. Griffith and Director Sibley, were absent.
Moved by Toombs, seconded by Long to approve the minutes of the September 1, 2020. All in favor. Motion carried.
Moved by Toombs, seconded by Liggett to approve agenda. All in favor. Motion carried.
Law Enforcement: Report given by Undersheriff Bednar. Roundup had a fire. Deputy Rock is no longer with us, we have an open position.
Public Comment: None
New Business: Zoning Ordinance Changes and Recommendations- Mayor Jones went over the changes and recommendations, the Council agreed with them.
Mayor Jones: Annual Conference will be October 6-9. Held at the City Office in the Council Chambers.
On-site visit Thursday with Director Sibley, Commissioner Borner and DEQ (Department of Environmental Quality) on FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) buyouts.
Delia Turley would like to deed the Stockman Bar building to the City. She would like the City to do the paperwork and she will pay the cost. It will be a Brownsfield Project, the City will not keep the lot after the building is torn down. Attorney Lundvall would like it to go through American Title, doesn’t want an issue to come up, like back taxes owed.
Will be going on vacation the middle of October, will need Toombs to facilitate the 2nd meeting.
City Attorney Lance Lundvall- Working with Lon on water issues on property near Busy Bee.
Finalized letters for two properties, needs Mayor Jones signature.
Fee Schedule resolution will be done second meeting in October.
Council Discussion/Future Agenda Items: Report out from Council Committee Meetings:
• Codes & Ordinance Fee Schedule Resolution Discussion- Council agrees with recommended changes.
• Codes & Ordinance Committee Curfew Ordinance Discussion-Toombs reported for the Committee. Would like a copy of the Ordinance changes given to the Sheriff’s Office for their input. Would like the Council to look at the Curfew Ordinance for any suggestions.
Clerk/Treasurer Lanter-Mailed Treasure Report.
Assistant Clerk Mann-LS Samantha property at 714 1st St E may be sold. City may not have to mow anymore.
