The Melstone Area Foundation presented a festive autumn-themed swag on October 10 as a welcome gift to Rebecca Benson, proprietor of Melstone's newest business, the Melstone Mercantile. Formerly known as the Lazy JC Drug & Hardware under the ownership of Anne Coles and family, the new store opened mid-September. It is the longest continuously running commercial business in town, with a rich history spanning more than 100 years since it opened in 1912.
