Roundup, Montana – The Montana Community Foundation (MCF) recently awarded Roundup Community Partners (RCP) a $2,000 grant to assist with the development of Roundup’s first visitor information kiosk. This project will be a collaborative effort of RCP, the City of Roundup, Roundup Chamber of Commerce, our local MSU Extension office, and possibly others.
RCP’s vision is to create a low-maintenance kiosk in a welcoming space with high visibility on Main Street that captures the authenticity and western feel of Roundup. Roundup's first visitor information kiosk will benefit the community in many ways. The goals for the project are to help revitalize Main Street, implement an action step identified in our City's Downtown Master Plan, and increase visitor and community awareness of local history and attractions.
The grant was awarded for RCP’s participation in ReImagining Rural, a virtual event that brought together over 200 people across Montana communities. Participants heard from experts who dispelled the notion that rural communities are dying and offered tangible ways to create a community plan and ensure our rural communities thrive for generations. As an incentive to capitalize on what they learned during these sessions, community foundations, and other local organizations, that participated in the event were able to submit grant applications for funding to support the development of their community plans.
The Montana Community Foundation (MCF) cultivates a culture of giving so Montana communities can flourish. Since 1988, the Montana Community Foundation has worked tirelessly to create permanent philanthropy and build stronger communities. Learn more at http://www.mtcf.org.
