CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKET PROGRAM
The 2020 Christmas Food Basket Program is coming to fulfillment! Applications have been received and food orders have been placed with the local grocers. The Christmas Food Basket Program is dedicated to providing a hearty holiday meal for community families who are in need this Holiday Season. This program is not sponsored by an organization nor is it affiliated with any public service entity. The Christmas Food Basket Program was started many years ago by some individual citizens concerned for their fellow neighbors, and continues to be a community effort coordinated by the concerted efforts of a few individuals. Funding for the food baskets is solely provided by donations from individuals, service groups, churches, and the like. The price of food items continues to rise on an annual basis, with 2020 being no exception. The total expense for the meat, vegetables, fruits, potatoes, stuffing, eggs, milk, and other staples that are provided in each food basket for more than 100 families is over $5000 for 2020. The Food Basket Program is in dire need of continued support in order to provide the staple items in this year’s baskets. Please, if you are considering making a donation to this very worthwhile cause, do so today! And if you have not yet considered making a donation, please accept this invitation to support your community and your neighbors by making a donation to the Christmas Food Basket Program today!
