Local Artist's Work on Display in Red Lodge

Roundup’s Jane Stanfel is one of 36 artists from Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Idaho selected to exhibit at the Rocky Mountain Regional Juried Exhibition March 4-29, at Carbon County Arts Guild and Depot Gallery, 11 W. 8th St., Red Lodge.

Jane’s contribution, an oil painting entitled “The Longest Day,” depicts the famous harbor at Bergen, Norway, where she lived twice, seen at the darkest hour of the Midsummer Solstice.

She has had one-person shows at the Norwegian Heritage Museum, Seattle and the Norwegian Embassy, Washington, D.C. In addition, she had a one-person show at the Jadite Gallery, New York City and gallery exhibitions in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; San Francisco, California; Chicago, Illinois; and Denver, Colorado. The artist was a MAGDA recipient with shows at galleries and museums across Montana.

Due to COVID restrictions, the exhibition is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 12-4 PM, as well as on Sunday and Monday, March 28 and 29, during the same hours. The picture can be seen online at http://www.carboncountydepotgallery.org; under “Exhibitions” near the top of the page, then click on “Image Gallery Rocky Mountain Regional Juried Exhibition” and enjoy all the works.
