JANUARY

Jan 7 - Twenty-one seniors and fourteen take-out orders enjoyed our first meal of 2021. We had tater tot casserole, coleslaw, pears, and Striped Delight for dessert.

Patti informed us about the new criteria for phase 1B of Covid vaccinations.

Area II is looking for more people who are eligible for commodity boxes.

The foot clinic will be held on Monday the 11th at the apartments. Please let Linda know if you would like an appointment for the foot clinic.

Dues were collected. The next time we can play Bingo will be January 24. If anyone is interested in watching our high school basketball teams, the video is set up at the school to broadcast the games on NFHS.com.

Jan 14 - Polish Dogs with sourcrout, mashed potatoes, veggie tray, and pumpkin pie cake was on the menu today. Nineteen seniors and five take-out orders enjoyed our meal.

The high winds yesterday and the effects of some of the damaging winds was a hot topic of conversation today.

Ellen Woods is in the hospital. She is not doing well. See you next week.

Jan 21 - Twenty-four seniors, twelve take-out orders and some of the courthouse employees came to share a mal of spaghetti with meat sauce, Caesar salad, French break, a fruit variety, and cookies.

The Covid vaccination clinic is tentatively set for February 4 in the school gym.

The Petroleum County Community Center (PCCC) board interviewed several contractors. They chose Swanke. It is exciting to see the progression on getting the new community center built. Bingo will be on the 24th at 1:30. It will be in the basement of the courthouse. You can bring snacks and drinks for just you; we can’t share our snacks for now.

Joan Murphy was able to be with us today. It is always great to see her.

Terry Sandman is in the hospital, and Ellen Woods is now home. Bonnie Allen is not doing well, and the cancer has spread. The doctors gave her approximately 3 weeks. Our prayers go out to all those in the hospital and at home who are fighting various cancers and illnesses.

Jan 28 - Enchilada casserole, Asian slaw, fruit salad, and applesauce cake were enjoyed by nineteen seniors and twelve take-outs.

There was some discussion about the covid shot and reactions. Bingo had the best attendance ever last Sunday. Thank you to all who came out and enjoyed a fun afternoon of bingo. Linda did blood pressures today for everyone

February

Feb 4 - Eighteen seniors and thirteen take-outs enjoyed ham and beans, cheese slices, Red Lobster biscuits, raspberry poke cake.

Everyone enjoyed the meal and afterward the discussion on the economic impact of debit cards. Bingo will be February 21 at 1:30. Everyone is welcome.

Most of us have appointments this afternoon for our Covid shots. It will be nice when this pandemic has ended and we can go out without worrying about masks, giving, or getting Covid and having to social distance. Our new normal will be nice to get back close tour old normal.

Feb 11 - Our menu today was meatloaf, baked potatoes, corn, homemade rolls, and cupcakes. Thank you to our 4-H kids for making us delicious Valentine’s cupcakes. There were nineteen seniors present and eleven take-out orders for lunch.

No one seemed to have any reaction to their Covid shots. The second shot will be on March 4. You should already have your appointment time set.

Bingo will be on the 21st. We look forward to seeing everyone.

Feb 18 - Our cooks do such a wonderful job of preparing delicious meals for our group. Today we had beef stew with vegetables, cookie salad, biscuits, and blueberry cobbler. There were twenty-four seniors who came to lunch and thirteen take-out orders.

Bingo will be the 21st. Linda will be taking blood pressures next week for anyone who would like. Gary told an Ole’ and Lena story. They are always so funny. Lee told a joke. It was a fun afternoon with our friends and lots of laughter.

Feb 25 - Today was a busy day. Twenty-three seniors and fifteen take-outs enjoyed Chicken Alfredo, broccoli, fog-eye salad, and oatmeal filled bars.

Next Thursday, the Central Montana Health District will be at the school gym to administer the 2nd shot of Covid vaccines. It will also be opened up for the next round for anyone 60 and older who would like a Covid shot.

Jack and Shirley Hughes won’t be back to Montana until June. Ginger won the Black-out at Bingo last week. Congratulations to her! We received word that Gunda Lewis is back in Lewistown. Cassie asked for a donation for an Easter Egg hunt. Diane moved and Ralph seconded to donate $30 for the Easter egg hunt. Motion passed.

The board met for a few minutes after the meal. It is wonderful that we are able to meet back in person these last couple of months. The socializing is a much missed pass time that we are able to enjoy once again.

February is over and now we welcome March. Hopefully, this bitter cold weather will let up soon and be more spring like. Calving, lambing, planting is always a welcome sign of spring coming. Stay healthy and see you next week.
