RIDE’s 2021 annual event this year looks to be the biggest yet with Joe Nichols headlining on July 3rd at the City Outdoor Stage. With the Covid-19 Pandemic cancelling last year’s events, Roundup is ready to rock again. Measures have been put in place to have a safe audience presence.
On July 2nd, RIDE is bringing back to Roundup one of the most popular groups to appear at the annual event. Hotel California was last here in 2014, the year before the Outdoor Stage was built. George Dickenson of the band tells Mike Morgan, “We’ve heard about the permanent stage and have tried to get back to Roundup to play, but our schedule and yours just didn’t allow, until now. With the Covid situation we’ve been holed up in Lake Arrowhead, California, and we’re so ready to get back to touring. We consider Roundup one of our most favorite places to play. We can’t wait to bring our brand of Eagles music back to Montana. We love the people of Roundup. It’s a cool town. We are always treated so well. We can’t wait. Since we played there last, we added another guitar player, a guy who played with Pure Prairie League, and he is so good. Roundup will be one of our first summer shows and we’re gonna rock and roll Roundup Montana.”
“Hotel California, A Salute to the Eagles” is the ONLY show with Official Authorization to perform the Eagles catalog of music. The Eagles have sold over 200 million albums and are one of the most influential acts in music history. The Hotel California album sold over 42 million copies worldwide. Their music spans three generations. The band “Hotel California” has been performing for over two decades, and have touched the hearts of fans all over the world by faithfully and accurately reproducing the Grammy award winning sounds of the Eagles. Those guys have gained a level of international recognition normally reserved only for gold and platinum recording artists. Their show is full of great harmonies, authentic instrumentation, including all the instruments in a stage spectacle that is both modern and exciting. You’ll hear all the Eagles hits such as “Take it Easy”, Heartache Tonight”, “Tequila Sunrise”, and of course “Hotel California”. Plus, they’ll do a lot of the solo works of Don Henley, Glen Frey, and Joe Walsh.
Hotel California will headline the July 2nd show at the Outdoor Stage. Show starts at 7pm with the great Jason Larson opening. You only have a few more days to get discounted wristbands for RIDE. They’ll get you into all RIDE events. They’re $35 for adults, and they’ll save you $10 at the gate. Wristbands are sold at 1st Security Bank, KLMB Radio, The Liquor Store in Roundup, Picchioni’s IGA, KGHL Radio in Billings, or online at roundupride.com. If you bought bands for RIDE 2020, hold on to them. They'll be good for 2021. Bands are still $5 for kids 12 and under.
The July 3rd Country show will promise to be one of our best yet. Multi-platinum Red Bow recording artist Joe Nichols headlines the show along with special guest, American Idol’s Lauren Mascitti. Show starts at 7pm with the best fireworks in Montana to follow. There’ll be lots to do at RIDE with events such as Button and Bows Rodeo, Top Shot Shooting Competition, Kids Kountry, Cowboy Church, and more. The master of ceremonies for the Joe Nichols show will be KGHL Radio morning personality Nick Tyler. RIDE will honor First Responders and medical personnel on the 2nd, and all Military Veterans on the 3rd. Guests for the events include Lt. Gen. Butch Funk, Gen. Paul Funk Jr., Kim Mitchell, and The Golden Knights Air Jump Team.
If you have a child that wants to participate in Buttons and Bows Rodeo, you need to pick up your entry forms online or at 1st Security Bank, and send them to RIDE with a postmark no later than June 14th.
So get ready. It will be here before you know it. We’ll have a ball, we’ll be safe, and we’ll have a Roundup party. It’ll be fun. See you soon.
