Melstone High School Track Meet in Laurel

The Melstone HS Track Team came away from the Southern C Divisional Track Meet in Laurel on Thursday, May 20th with four championship titles. Leni Krehbiel, an exchange student from Germany, earned first place honors in the 200m, 400m and high jump. Leni will also anchor the girls 4x400m relay at State. Bryce Grebe, a sophomore, earned the title of champion in the 200m dash. Bryce also qualified in the 100m, long jump, triple jump and will be joining the 4x100m Relay for the first time this season. Ty Kombol, a senior for Melstone, also qualified for State in four events: 200m, long jump, high jump and shot put. Ty will be also joining the 4x100m relay for the first time this season at State. Ty's younger sister, Kayla Kombol (a junior) qualified for State in five events: 800m, 1600m, 3200m, 300m hurdles and the 4x400 relay. The other two members of the girls 4x400m relay are junior Sage Franzel and exchange student Finn Riksman. State Class C will be held in Missoula along with Class AA this Friday/Saturday, May 28-29.
