On September 9th, Bob and Karen Varney presented a five-thousand-dollar check to Kaela Imm of the Alzheimer's Association of Montana during the Senior dinner. The couple has been fundraising in Roundup for the Alzheimer's foundation for the last several years. This year the community raised 6400 dollars of which 5000 went to the Alzheimer Association, and the rest will go into next years fundraising events. The money raised for the association is used for research, care, and support for people struggling with Alzheimer's disease. One of the recommended preventatives of Alzheimer's is diet and exercise. Heart health is critical to staving off the disease as long as possible.
There will be an upcoming "Roundup Walk to End Alzheimer's" on September 19th. It will start at the Arcade at 1pm and the walk will go to the war memorial, up to the Catholic Church, and back to the Arcade. There will be munchies at the Arcade afterwards. The Varney's would like to thank the community for all the support.
