Regional Water Project Nearing Construction!

After many years of planning and applying for different funding scenarios, the Central MT Regional Water Authority (CMRWA) is pleased to announce that the Musselshell-Judith Rural Water System has been Authorized by Congress and project funding will soon become available for construction of the system through USDA Rural Development, Dept. of Interior Bureau of Reclamation, the State of Montana and water users.

The Musselshell Judith Rural Water System plans to deliver high quality drinking water to portions of Wheatland, Golden Valley, Musselshell, Judith Basin, Fergus and Yellowstone Counties. Phase I of the project which will deliver water to the City of Harlowton and approximately 30 rural users, will be under construction in 2022.

Any individuals or communities that are in the planning area and are interested in becoming participating members should contact the Central MT Regional Water Authority by April 1, 2022 to determine feasibility.

The planning area includes the communities of Harlowton, Roundup, Melstone, Lavina, Ryegate, Judith Gap, Hobson and Moore, as well as other unincorporated areas and rural users along the pipeline. CMRWA continues to keep City and Town Councils informed about the project. For more information go http://www.centralmontanawater.com or contact CMRWA at 406-323-6060.
