Cathy Jo (Jodie) McCormick Treible

Cathy Jo (Jodie) McCormick Treible passed away December 30. 2021 after a short illness. She was born the youngest child to William R. and Ilene McCormick on August 19, 1949. She lived in Billings until her father died. Jodie and her family then moved to Nebraska for a year living next to her Grandparents. In 1957, her mother remarried and Jodie grew up on a ranch south of Melstone. She and her stepfather, Jack Jennings, bonded immediately and were very close until his passing. Jodie graduated from Melstone High School in 1968 and then went on to Business School, finishing in 1969 and worked for Grinell as a secretary.

Jodie married the love of her life (Butch) on November 8, 1969. Butch and Jodie moved to Ferndale, WA after they were married where Butch was stationed in the Navy. Butch was deployed in early 1970 and Jodie moved back to Billings where their son, Ronald, Jr. was born. She then lived with her parents until Butch was back from Vietnam and was discharged from the Navy. Once the family was back together, they moved to Billings where their daughter Ramie was born. In 1974 they moved to the family ranch and raised their children there.

Jodie loved to play pinochle with her many friends. Nothing would stop her from going to a pinochle party, including a Montana Blizzard (with her dear friend Tootie Maack). Jodie was very active in the community, and in her children's school activities. She continued that dedication with her grandchildren's school events up until the time of her death. Jodie had many friends who loved her and would tell us how sweet and caring she was to them.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Butch, son Ron (Lisa), daughter Ramie (Neil), grandchildren, Ty Jennings Meredith, Trey William Meredith and Macy Jo Meredith of Melstone. Also surviving Jodie are her brother Bill McCormick (Judy) of Thornton, CO and sister Sharon Brewer (Duane) of Roundup, her special niece, Melissa Donahue (Mitch) who provided her a hospice home and gave her skilled nursing care that allowed her to die with dignity and grace with her loving family around her. Very special brother and sister-in-law's and many nieces and nephews that had a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her two BEST friends, Rosella Meredith (Wayne) and Freda Howey (Rocky). They have been best friends since grade school.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, William McCormick, Ilene and Jack Jennings, special brother-in-law Bill Wolff and niece Elizabeth Wolff.

Services will be Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Melstone Community Center followed by a dinner. At her request she would like people to wear pink, her favorite color.

Memorials may be made to the MS Society or charity of your choice.
