Thursday the Panthers traveled to Shepherd to challenge the Mustangs in a 4 B district game. It was the first time that the Panthers had their full team in two weeks. Unfortunately, although they were all present many were still feeling the effects of their ailments and it showed out on the court. Every now and then teams have one of those games where nothing goes right and Thursday was that kind of night for the Panthers. Shepherd got off to a blazing start and the Panthers could never recover. Their best player, Colten Zubach, had 24 of his 27 points in the first half. Colton outscored the Panthers by 11 points at halftime. The Panthers were running in mud all game it seemed. They weren’t sharp on the defensive or offensive end. As a team they had 35 turnovers for the game which was almost half of their offensive possessions. In the end the Mustangs outplayed the Panthers and won 65-35.
Scoring was as follows: Kylen Wolff 9, Jordan Olson 6, Dustin Gairrett 6, AJ Gray 5, Thomas Bruner 3, Morgan Sanner 2, Braedan Bilden 2, and Jared Freitas 2.
