The national organization Jordan's Way is currently on a 50-state tour to raise money for small shelters and dog rescues. Giving a voice to the voiceless, Jordan's Way, a national nonprofit organization, will mark the next stop on its 50-state tour in Roundup, Montana as it helps raise funds for local animal shelters and rescues across the country.
The organization has shined a spotlight on otherwise overlooked dogs and on Wednesday, Feb. 23 will be hosting a live, four-hour fundraiser from the Roundup Community Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb 23rd. 700 3rd St W, Roundup, Mt 59072
The live feed will be broadcast on the Rimrock Humane Society Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RimrockHumaneSociety/ and Jordan's Way's Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/jordanswaytour from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM Wednesday, Feb 23rd.
Since January, Jordan's Way, a 501(c)3 non-profit, has raised over $2.5 million for animal shelters and rescues across the U.S. as part of a massive 50-state tour. Each month, the Jordan's Way team, made up of a massive team of volunteers and led by founder Kris Rotonda, visits two rescues per day in a new state. The organization conducts a four-hour live Facebook fundraiser that features games, challenges, rescue animals, volunteers, and other festivities.
They are striving to raise $15,000 for Rimrock Humane Society and to find homes for their adoptable dogs. There will be about 8-10 local dogs available for adoption who will be making appearances throughout the live feed. RHS is encouraging all businesses and dog lovers to come by in person, call in to the live fundraiser, donate, match, and challenge and pledge donations to help them meet their goal. During these events, volunteers will get pied in the face or get a bucket of ice water dumped on their head, and might have to eat wild or hot food to help raise funds. They will also be showcasing dogs and cats from the area that need homes.
"I believe that no animal should ever have to spend their life in a shelter, and I'm passionate to highlight and support the many organizations across our country who work relentlessly to ensure these pets find loving homes, despite their age, breed, or health issues," said Rotonda. "I want to combine my two passions and use my strength to draw attention to amazing people and animals."
During the Jordan's Way Tour, Rotonda has drawn attention from national outlets like the Hallmark Channel and the Dodo by performing stunts like pushing, pulling, and flipping a 250-pound tractor trailer tire for 13 miles and spending the night in a kennel – all captured live on social media.
Named after his since-passed rescue German Shepherd mix, Rotonda formed Jordan's Way to honor her life, long spent being overlooked inside a shelter, by helping as many other similar cats and dogs as possible. Each month, his team travels to two new states for up to eight days, hosting live Facebook fundraisers, all highlighted in the Jordan's Way Home Magazine. A majority of donations will go to local shelters and their mission to help rescue animals from the streets and shelters and get them into loving homes. Jordan's Way will receive 25% of the funds for the first 48 hours of each fundraiser. The fundraiser continues for one week following the live feed.
Rimrock Humane Society President Stephanie Moncalieri says "We are so honored that someone felt strongly enough about what we do to nominate our rescue to the Jordan's Way team. Being recognized, and getting to take part in the Jordan's Way 50 State Tour is huge! Our hearts are full. Come join us! This is going to be a lot of fun! Let's step up and show the world what our community is famous for- helping others!"
