Signal Peak Community Foundation Accepting Grant Applications

The Signal Peak Community Foundation will be accepting grant applications for it’s May 2022 meeting. Grants will be awarded in May to non-profit organizations located in Musselshell County. The board’s general guidelines for applications are:

* grant must be secular, non-profit organizations

* emphasis on infrastructure related projects

* preference for projects where sponsoring organization covers part of the project costs

* preference against operating costs or personnel

* grant funds to be spent locally if possible.

Scholarship will be funded. The Board has changed the criteria for awarding scholarship and will now include community college eligibility. Over the course of the last year the board has put together an endowment fund that will award scholarships to students from Roundup and Melstone high school for perpetuity. The scholarship awards are for 4 years at 4 years colleges and for 2 years at community colleges if the student keeps up the required grade average.

The Foundation has awarded grants to non-profit organization and governmental entities for the last 12 years in Musselshell County. Over 3 million dollars has been granted. The last large grant is to the City of Roundup for new playground equipment for the city park. The playground equipment is in place and has been well used by the children in the area.

Newer members of the foundation are Joe Picchioni who replaced Tom Berry and Parker Phillips CEO of Signal Peak Mine who replaced Joe Farrinille who retired from the mine. We thank Tom and Joe for their dedication to the board.
