Helen Louise (Parrish) Day, of Roundup, Montana, passed away on August 8, 2022, at her home. She was 87 years old. Helen was born to Ethel (Leckbee) and Fred Parrish, in Longmont, Colorado on March 7, 1935. She was the youngest of two brothers and one sister.
She met her husband, Ed, when they were just kids growing up in Longmont. They eloped at the very young ages of 17 and 19 and were married on April 7, 1952, in Boulder, Colorado. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. They had one son and two daughters. Ed had already done one tour in Korea with the United States Military when they were married. Helen later accompanied him on two tours to Germany. After returning back to the states she endured Ed's two tours to Vietnam as well as their son, Ed, Jr.'s tour. She was a proud military wife for 20 years. Helen and Ed lived in Longmont, Colorado until their move to Roundup, Montana in 2016.
Helen had an unwavering faith in God and was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Helping people in church and those in need brought her joy. She was a feisty woman with a great sense of humor, was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Parrish and Ethel (Leckbee) Harrison, her brothers Delbert Parrish and Dale Parrish, sister Evelyn Simmons, and grandson Jeremiah Day. She leaves behind her loving husband Edward Day; children Edward Day, Jr., Kim (Jeff) Boltz and Kelly (Jason) Bickler; and six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at New Life Fellowship at 4:00 p.m. in Roundup, Montana on Saturday, August 27, 2022. The Day family would like to extend their warmest gratitude to Helen's hospice team, care givers, church family, friends and neighbors.
