The original COVID-19 vaccines have not protected U.S. nursing home residents from infection and death since the omicron wave began more than a year ago, a new study finds.
Two University of Chicago researchers published the study Thursday in JAMA Network Open. It examined 15,042 nursing homes that reported COVID-19 data to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from May 30, 2021, to Jan. 30 of this year.
