American Defender Offers Monthly Classes for Roundup

In a constitution carry state, it is a good idea to have training and education when owning and using a firearm. Many local people have had Hunter's Safety, a critical class for gun owners who intend to hunt or anyone owning a gun. However, when considering self-defense, it becomes even more important to understand the law, and control of your firearm. Legal use of Force, is a class that teaches you when you can and cannot legally shoot someone in self-defense. Violent Encounters and the Aftermath is a class teaches you what happens after you pull the trigger in self-defense, all of the mental, physical, and legal ramifications.

Instructor Justin Carlton is a retired military Law Enforcement officer with twenty-four years in the United States Military being taught, and teaching, Use of Force a long period of that time. Justin and his family moved to Roundup in December of 2019 from Guam, where he retired from the military. Justin exclaims that he and his family are "So happy to be in a place where there is so much freedom. Guam had many restrictions; they felt the freedom immediately when they came to Montana and really appreciate the freedom here in contrast to the very controlled environment of places like Guam."

Justin has recently started the American defenders "Use of Force" training this year after being certified in December with the United States Concealed Carry Association. He has done two classes already, and plans to do the class once a month. Justin states that, "because we have constitutional carry, it is important that people understand the responsibility that comes with carrying a firearm, and if involved in a self-defense incident, they will have a better understanding of what to do, and what comes next."

Justin has also been doing a self-defense class for a few years. It trains in hand-to-hand self-defense using military combatants, combined with Krav Maga, Ju Jitsu, Aikido, and Karate. His class teaches how to "get home at night'. This class teaches how to respond without using your weapon, or how to respond so that you can get to your weapon. Justin has been teaching self-defense for over twenty years. This class is in Roundup every Friday from 4-6pm, and Saturday from 3-5pm at the community center.

If anyone is interested in any of the classes available, they can preregister, or pay as you go at class. You do NOT have to pre-register, but you must have an email address for the Legal Use of Force class. You can reach Justin at American Defender, his Facebook page, by email at [email protected] or visit his website, Americandefenderusa.com

Justin is also the Assistant Pastor at New Life Church. He is known as the "Packing Pastor". Justin is licensed for conceal carry in all 50 states. He says "we can trust God to protect us, but we can also trust God to enable us to protect ourselves."
