Rosendale Reintroduces Legislation to Prohibit Ukraine Intervention Until America's Southern Border is Secured

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Recently, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) reintroduced the Secure America’s Borders First Act. This legislation would prohibit the Biden Administration from providing further military assistance to Ukraine until the border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border is completed and operational control of the border is demonstrated.

“This week, President Biden traveled to Kyiv to present President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with another half billion in taxpayer funding while he continues to allow criminals and drugs to flow through our southern border,” said Rep. Rosendale. “Over the past year that President Biden has been funding Ukraine’s war, more than 110,000 Americans died from fentanyl overdoses. We must address our border crisis at home before defending the borders of other countries – the Secure America’s Borders First Act does that.”

Rep. Rosendale has a strong record of supporting border security, previously introducing the REMAIN in Mexico Act and SECURE America Act. Additionally, he is an original cosponsor of Rep. Andy Biggs’ resolution to impeach the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security under President Biden, Alejandro Mayorkas.

Rosendale has consistently voted against sending taxpayer dollars to Ukraine and supported a resolution to audit all Congressionally-appropriated funding to Ukraine, in addition to a resolution to halt financial and military aid to Ukraine.
