This summer the Musselshell County Prevention hired three youth Ambassadors with a sponsorship from the Jody Alise Foundation, to lead the community youth with activities and inspiration. The three teens have been involved in several community events including game nights, “Movies Under the Stars”, and helped with other local activities such as the Ladies Tea and the First Annual Mayors Prayer Breakfast. Caitlin Barber, Ayden Mozqueda, and Thaiden Godfrey have made a commitment of addiction free leadership among their peers. Throughout the summer, the three have started a once-a-week news program called “Tuesday Newsday”. The program is uploaded to Musselshell Media on Facebook, and is gaining traction. Caitlin brings the local sports updates, Ayden brings the local upcoming events, and Thaiden brings a little news and prevention encouragement.
The Jody Alise Foundation, has sponsored several of the events, as well as wages for the teen ambassadors. Prevention is needed in many communities, not just Musselshell County. Small victories can make a big difference in changing the culture. Inspiring local youth to sober living is a goal we can all hope for. Please show your support to the youth ambassadors if you see them, or watch their “Tuesday Newsday”, leave a comment for them, and a thumbs up.
