Story by Angie Mozqueda
Our High school football team got to go down to the Elementary school to sign autographs. I tagged along and got to see how excited these kids were to visit with the high school team!
I met some of the elementary football players that shared some stories about who they know. They said they knew #3 Brian Turner #16 Thomas Bruner (because he is Landon's brother) #7 Ayden Mozqueda mainly because of his long hair and #60 Trey Stigen and that after their last game one or two of the high school players chatted with them afterward and that made them feel excited to know the HS boys are watching them! The younger kids if I had to guess 3rd graders were so excited to see a fellow classmate in the photo they excitedly said Landon you're famous! I think building those relationships and encouraging the younger kids is so important not just for the younger ones but for the older ones to know they are role models and that little ones are always watching.
As always I have to relate this to prevention a big panther little panther program is so important. Its setting a good example and connecting with other youth and creating opportunities for conversations and support!
Great Job ROUNDUP HIGH SCHOOL PANTHER FOOTBALL players! I saw a group of young men that were kind respectful and certainly interactive with those in the elementary. You all make our community so proud for your efforts and for never giving up! Keep working! Go PANTHERS!
There was a non stop line of kids wanting signatures the team ended up being there from 11:45 till about 1pm they also got to eat lunch at the end of it since they missed their lunch period. A HUGE social than you to the amazing lunch women at the elementary that served up great chili and the best cinnamon rolls to the young men! They made sure they were fed and fed well!
Also thank you to Mr. Griffith and the elementary staff for supporting and helping to keep this event organized. Let's keep this tradition going!
