All are welcome as the Friends of the Library host Thomas Thackeray in an author presentation on Sunday March 17 at 2:00PM at the Roundup Community Library.
Thomas Thackeray’s recently published book of poetry, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Being Wonderful, draws on a lifetime of observing the mystery of our existence in a complex world. Its description on the Amazon.com website calls it “Poetry pondering cosmic wondering.”
One example of that cosmic wondering is the paradoxical final stanza of the poem “Bald Eagle." yet the eagle prevails/in spite of all attempts/to save it Thackeray, recently retired Roundup High School English teacher, was raised in a ranching family on north-central
Montana's HiLine. He has two children and seven grandchildren.
Thackeray will also discuss his collection of short stories published in 2022 as Treading Air and Other Stories, a spare and unblinking examination of growing up on a working ranch.
The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Being Wonderful and Treading Air and Other Stories by Thomas Thackeray are available at Amazon.com in both paperback and Kindle editions.
Friends of the Library will provide refreshments. Copies of Treading Air and Other Stories and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Being Wonderful will be available at the 2:00PM presentation on March 17.
