I caught up with Linda Kane and her dog, Muttley, the other day to chat about her walk for 'Stop Soldier Suicide'.
Linda and her furry friend are walking a mile a day during March to benefit soldiers that suffer from PTSD and other mental health issues that could lead to taking their own lives.
Of her $200 goal for March, she reached that number earlier than expected thanks to the generosity of donors.. You can go to stopsoldiersuicide.org and donate directly to that organization. Or head over to her Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/lkane221 and donate directly to Linda.
In the United States, Montana has one of the highest rate of suicides, second only to Wyoming. Montana veterans have a high rate of suicides as well, due to many factors. Among these are isolation, access to firearms. mental health issues, weather, and physical health.
Please consider donating to Linda's cause and help our veterans. And say 'Hi' if you see Muttley and Linda walking around town as they meet that 'one mile a day' goal.
