Vitalant hosts Roundup Community Blood Drive

Roundup, MT – Join our Roundup Community Volunteer, Jan Skagen and Vitalant, your local community blood provider at the next Roundup Community Blood Drive on Thursday, March 28 from 12pm-6pm at the Musselshell County Emergency Operations Center. There is no substitute for blood, and the community faces a shortage of donations during winter/spring months. We hope to offset that dip in donations and ensure a safe blood supply for those relying on it in our area.

Vitalant is the only blood provider to more than 30 hospitals across Southern Montana and Northern Wyoming. The blood supply is dependent on selfless donations from volunteer donors to ensure the lifesaving needs of the region are met.

About 30 percent of Vitalant’s blood supply goes to cancer patients across the region and one in seven people entering the hospital will need blood. Those relying on blood in the region receive that lifesaving blood from Vitalant.

Donors can make a lifesaving appointment to give blood at http://www.donors.vitalant.org or by calling Jan at (406) 323-1530. With each donation, donors receive a free total cholesterol test and earn points in Vitalant’s rewards program.

A blood donation takes about an hour. Donors can save about 20 minutes by completing their Fast Track online questionnaire the day they donate on http://www.vitalant.org/health

Please donate on March 28th and show support for patients in need of blood and the Roundup Community!
