New Shopping on Main
That vacant space at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Main Street?
It's now filled. Tonia and Urban Bencomo opened 'Chanel's Little Bit of Everything' just the other day. The front window is an eye-catcher.
Tonia will be selling her refurbished furniture. Then together with Urban, and other family members, will offer new and gently used items for sale.
They are not taking donations of used items, as they do not consider this a thrift store.
Store hours are in flux are at present, and are much like a pop-up shop. But they should be established soon. So next time you're downtown, drop in and see what they've done with the space!
Seen Around Town
Members of Heser Tree Service from Forsyth are trimming the city's trees. A much needed trim on many of the trees is happening.
The city's tree board does an inventory of all the trees in Roundup, I learned while talking with Linda Yount. A healthy tree needs trimming quite often. Pruning a tree is necessary to allow correct growth of branches, and to remove dead growth. Diseased and dead trees can be a hazard.
Roundup is recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City, and have been for 31 years. The criteria are as follows:
• Maintain a tree board or department
• Have a community tree ordinance
• Spend at least $2 per capita on urban forestry
• Celebrate Arbor Day
In Montana, only Billings, Great Falls, Helena, Kalispell, Missoula, and Polson have been recognized more years by the Arbor Day Foundation.
This year Roundup will have an Arbor Day program on April 19 at 10 AM. Meet at the city stage near the city park.
Thanks to Morgan Belveal and a grant from the Montana Main Street program, the Roundup city crew installed some beautiful Roundup banners recently.
These banners reflect the Roundup logo and the Roundup branded colors.
